Why should I take prebiotics?
Prebiotics are a type of dietary fiber that cannot be digested by the human body. Instead, they feed beneficial bacteria in the gut, helping this beneficial bacteria thrive inside of us.*
We get our first taste of prebiotics as infants through breast milk. In adulthood, we try to consume prebiotics by eating certain fruits and vegetables, although they may not include as many prebiotics as found in our formulas.*
How are prebiotics different than probiotics?
Prebiotics and probiotics support our gut health in two different ways. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that reside in our gut. Prebiotics are food for the beneficial bacteria that reside in our gut. By consuming more prebiotics, we are feeding our beneficial bacteria.*
What are Triple Class prebiotics?
Triple Class prebiotics have three different types of prebiotics, to promote greater gut diversity among the bacteria that feed upon them. Our prebiotics include XOS, GOS and Inulin.
What are the health benefits of prebiotics?
Prebiotics support our beneficial bacteria, helping them grow in number. Greater amounts of beneficial bacteria helps our body benefit from their presence, and that includes becoming in a more healthy ratio to the harmful bacteria in our guts. For example, our prebiotics may help you grow beneficial bacteria, maintain microflora balance and help you stay regular.*
This is my first time taking prebiotics, what can I expect?
Similar to starting probiotics, you body may need time to adjust to changes in gut bacteria (the "adjustment period"). You may experience mild gas, bloating or changes to bowel movements. Don't worry, these symptoms are usually temporary and should go away within a week or two! Keep in mind that everyone's experience with prebiotics is different, so you may not experience any symptoms at all. If you have any questions or concerns, contact your healthcare practitioner.*
How often should I take prebiotics?
Prebiotics should be taken daily. Serving as as food for your good bacteria, they will eventually be consumed or passed through your digestive system. Accordingly, prebiotics need to be regularly replenished to maintain their beneficial effects on the gut microbiome*. Take prebiotics is mixed beverage is an easy way to take them along with probiotics and other vitamins.
Should I take prebiotics in the morning or evening?
Take prebiotics at the time they work best for your daily routine. Mixing into a beverage makes it easy to take them alongside probiotics and any other vitamins you are taking. You can store extras easily with our convenient sachets at home, at the office and at the gym.
If this is your first time taking prebiotics, we recommend you take them in the morning or afternoon, so you have more control over the initial adjustment period.
